We bought this for our papillon puppy when he was 4 months old. He absolutely adored this bear from day 1 (and a few other soft kong toys, the stretchy fox another favourite) and they held really well through his teething phase, practically intact. I was really impressed, as he managed to damage another soft toy he got as a gift quite quickly. Alas, it seems recently his teeth and/or grip got much stronger (he's nearly 10 months now) as no chew toy, except for the rubber kongs, survives impact. The bear is in rather poor form - but is one of the most loved toys, and whilst the time from purchase to the first "broken skin" (the bear's) is not very long, the overall enjoyment and time of play seems to be worth it. We'll be getting a replacement bear and see how long the second one lasts.
